Injustice: Year Three, American Jesus

That’s it, Batman books all read!  (Except for the ongoing series.  And some Catwoman.)

Box summary

Time spent reading: 23 hours, 19 minutes

Issues read: 205

Issues cut: 11

Highlights (Good or better): Batman 13-16 (Death of the Family, except for the last issue), Miller and Lee’s All-Star Batman and Robin, Batman: Dark Victory, a good chunk of Tom King’s Batman, Batman: Curse of the White Knight, Batman: Year One, Dark Knight Returns, Arkham Asylum.  Lots of good stuff in this box.

Project Summary:

Time spent reading: 39 days, 2 hours, 15 minutes

Issues read: 8181

Issues cut: 933

Injustice: Year Three 1-7

The last of Tom Taylor’s issues.  John Constantine and the magicians get involved.  It’s not bad, but also not as good as the first two years.  Will see how he does with Injustice 2.

Heh.

Some parenting moments are universal, Superman or not.

Of course, others aren't.

But at the end, you have to trust you did your job and let them go.

American Jesus: The New Messiah 1

The companion piece to Chosen, which didn’t need a sequel.  This series covers the other side, the upbringing of the actual Jesus reincarnation.  It’s not bad, but there’s nothing surprising here, it’s all very by the numbers.  (The same way Chosen was before the twist at the end.  (Second tier parentheses: There’s no twist at the end of New Messiah.))  I went through it once already with the original series; Past and present me don’t need to read the rest of this.
