Astro City 4-9

The Confessor story arc is excellent.  Kurt Busiek gives a relatable voice to Brian, and his emotional journey is an engaging one.  So too is the Confessor’s, a clear Batman stand in.  His path from mentor to confessee to self-sacrificing hero is a satisfying one.  I like the lessons he teaches Brian, it’s exactly mirrors what Ron Swanson tells Leslie Knope in the London episode of Parks and Rec.  (Not a bad thing.)

I wonder if this is the last best arc from Astro City.

A horrible story about Leo the Lion, a sad sack loser with an equally pathetic story.  A waste of my time.  I’d cut it if I didn’t care about keeping the run.
