Where Monsters Dwell, World of Tanks

Where Monsters Dwell 1-5

Garth Ennis continues the adventures of Karl Kaufman, the Phantom Eagle.  He undoes any maturation that happened in that series, and reverts the guy to an oblivious idiot.  This would be an intolerable comic if it weren’t for the delightful presence of Clementine Franklin-Cox.  This badass is the true protagonist, and seeing her get her happy ending after five issues of putting up with the insufferable Kaufman is completely satisfying.  As is the comeuppance of the ostensible hero.

Love her.

You go, girl.

World of Tanks: Roll Out 1-5

World of Tanks: Citadel 1-5

I would never have been able to tell that this was a licensed comic if it weren’t for the title on the front.  It is, for all intents and purposes, another Ennis war comic.  The first covers a British tank crew right after D-Day.  The second, the Battle of Kursk.  Perfectly entertaining stuff.
