Sandman Mystery Theatre 65-70
The Goblin: Wesley gets a concussion and wanders around the city as the Sandman person with no recognition of his true self. Dian volunteers at an orphanage and gets caught up in a string of child abductions.
The Hero: Wesley ties up loose ends when he decides to go to Europe to rescue his brother. He finally proposes to Dian. Dian sells her first novel. It’s a wonderful way to wrap up a splendid series that was never flashy but always impressive, just like Wesley and Dian.
Aww. |
I wouldn't say he deserves it, but good for Burke! |
Of course he knew. Just like Gordon does w/ Batman. |
Klein gets his earned moment of recognition. |

Unknown Soldier 1-4
Garth Ennis tells a bunch of war stories about the corrupt side of the US military. He bundles them in a conspiracy involving the Unknown Soldier and the clean cut CIA operative investigating him. It zips along at a really fast pace, expertly told by Garth Ennis and drawn by Kilian Plunkett channeling Chris Bachalo. (Plunkett, who I really like here, hasn’t done much since, having worked at Lucasfilm on The Clone Wars for ages.)
Isn't that why people do most things in the world? |
