Sandman Mystery Theatre, New comics

New comics!

Iron Man 16

Got this on the recommendation of the iFanboy podcast.  Tony gets the Power Cosmic, and makes everyone in New York City as smart as he is.  The results are hilarious, but obviously things are about to go south in a hurry.  Don’t know how much more of this I’ll get, but this was a fun single issue.

Heh.  Reed.

Seven Secrets 13

Not Tom Taylor’s best, but the art is beautiful and it’s fun enough.

Mary Jane and Black Cat Beyond 1

Again with iFanboy’s recommendation.  Jed MacKay and CF Villa continue to write Black Cat stories even after the end of her series.  They clearly love her, and I’m not complaining.  The dynamic she has with MJ is lovely.

Heh.  Of course she would have fans everywhere.

Heh.  Who hasn't had that dream?

What a wonderful bit of character work.

Aww.

Don’t think this is enough to get me buying MacKay’s Spidey, though.

Batman/Catwoman Special 1

Tom King, John Paul Leon, Bernard Chang, and Mitch Gerads tell the story of Selina Kyle from birth to death in a series of one-page stories, each one taking place during a Christmas from one of the years in her life.

So funny.

It’s absolutely beautiful, though I still don’t know how to take the ending.

Sandman Mystery Theatre 37-40

The Mist: The Mist develops the machine that leads to his powers.  Ted Knight, Starman, makes an appearance.  Dian and Wes fall into a comfortable rhythm as partners in love and crime fighting.  Dian decides to start writing.

The trade paperback containing these issues is completely screwed up, the second and third parts are printed totally out of order.  So confusing.

Regret buying: No

Would buy again: Yes

Would read again: Yes
