Ultimate Comics Avengers 2 1-6
Leinil Francis Yu takes the art baton from Carlos Pacheco as Mark Millar’s Ultimates returns continue to diminish. This arc brings us some super nonsense with two Ghost Riders and the Punisher as Captain America. It’s all ridiculous in a not-fun kind of way. Cutting.

Ultimate New Ultimates 1-5
Jeph Loeb and Frank Cho’s sister title is only slightly better, mostly due to Cho’s art. It’s not even peak Cho, but it’s neat to see him drawing Marvel characters. Loeb sleepwalks through the issues with his patented inner monologue narrations, and aside from bringing his IRL son into one of the stories, it really feels like he’s going through the motions. Keeping for the art.
